Sec Joel Villanueva takes TESDA services to Cavite

9 in 10 workers certified after 1-day assessment

Nine out of 10 workers who took the National TVET Competency Assessment and Certification (NATCAC) passed and awarded their National Certificate, Secretary Joel Villanueva announced. "This is a good mark to show that more skilled workers now realize the value of certification to affirm their competence," said Villanueva, Director General of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). A total of 3,149 were assessed in 160 Assessment Centers nationwide on the opening day of the NATCAC on July 31. Of this, 2,762 or 88 percent passed the assessment.

Laguna residents get grooming treats

For a day, residents of select towns in Laguna had a taste of pampering and looking good without paying a peso. Thanks to technical vocational (tech-voc) training graduates, who were organized by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) at Barangay Mayondon in Los Banos to show off their skills and give free services to the community. On the same day, in the cities of San Pedro and Calamba, a new batch of graduates received their training certificates and toolkits as they prepare to start a career. "Our goal is having a pool of skilled workers coming out of the tech-

Provincial K -12 Summit in Batangas

TESDA Batangas and Dep Ed Batangas division have just launched the K-12 Curriculum Provincial Summit last October 30, 2014 at the University of Batangas, Batangas City. The summit aimed at enlightening the TESDA schools and centers with the qualifications covered under k -12. About 120 school administrators and registrars  attended the summit. Dr Carlito Rocafort, the SDS of DepEd Batangas division intoned that this is the first ever provincial summit conducted at CALABARZON involving DepEd officials and TVIs.
