Search for 2014 TESDA 4A Outstanding Trainers

The search is now on for the 2014 Outstanding Trainers for public and private technical vocational institutions.  The Trainers Award is given  in recognition of the outstanding performance and commitment of tech voc instructors in developing skilled workers with positive work values.

Last year's Outstanding Trainers Awardees are:  Francia Yvette A. Magpantay of University of Batangas and Francis Carlo T. Argente of TESDA RTC Batangas.

Idol ko si Chef, Idol ko si Sec

TESDA Sec Joel Villanueva and Chef Boy Logro were featured in the "Idol ko si Chef, Idol ko si Sec" skills showdown last August 29 during the 20th TESDA Anniversary.   Chef Boy prepared baked lobster and prawn thermidore with hollandaise sauce.  Sec Joel, a certified Barista prepared cappucino, espresso, frappe, latte and mocha.  Chef Boy used the coffee latte of Sec Joel as ingredient for  the hollandaise sauce.  The audience enjoyed the thermidore with coffee prepared by the two TVET celebtrity-advocates.

Sa TESDA Bida Ka Radio Program

A weekly radio program of TESDA Calabarzon  was launched  last August  20 entitled "Sa TESDA Bida Ka" over Dzjv 1458 khz AM radio.  Heard every Wednesday 9:30-10:00 am, the program provides information on TESDA programs and services.  It also features successful graduates who made great achievements via the techvoc stream.  

A highlight of the program is the TESDA Quiz-on-Air.  Techvoc related questions are aired during the program and listeners can call in their answers.  Prizes are given to winners.

TESDA Director General Secretary Joel Villanueva urged the participants of the 2nd Calabarzon TVET Congress to play an active role in the ASEAN Economic Community.  Speaking before a crowd of 715 Administrators and officers of public and private tech voc institutions (TVIs) and Department of Education 4A  offcials, Sec Joel said that the TVIs  should continue producing certified graduates who will be part of the global workforce.

Three TESDA Calabarzon officers won the 2014 TESDA Model Employees Award.  Leading the winners is Provincial  Director Carlos C. Flores of TESDA Batangas for Level IV Category; Rizal Bautista, Training Administrator of PTC Rosario Cavite for Level III and Warlito Tugade of the TESDA 4A  Regional Office for Level I.  Rheo Henry Rodriguez of TESDA Laguna joined the national finalists for Level II category.  The winners got  cash prizes and travel for 2 at any region of their choice.  

Last year's national finalist for Level 1 is Joel Oclarit.
